After having his wrongful termination lawsuit dismissed last month by a California-based federal judge, former Sacramento Kings play-by-play announcer and KHTK host Grant Napear has amended his case against station owner Bonneville International.
Napear was fired in 2020 for tweeting “All Lives Matter” while discussing the unrest as a result of George Floyd’s murder. Grant sued Bonneville in 2021 claiming the company discriminated against his religious beliefs.
Napear’s amended suit challenges that Bonneville fired him for cause, and claims that the use of “All Lives Matter” isn’t offensive and was an “expression of his sincerely held Christian religious belief” based on Unitarian Church principles.
The company asserts that there was no discriminatory motivation behind Napear’s firing and that his termination was justified.
