Warner Bros. Discovery is planning to scale back its workforce further in the coming months, reports indicated Monday. This comes on the heels of layoffs announced last week which affected the company’s sports digital department.
The new job cuts are expected to impact those working on the cable TV side. Yahoo reporting suggests roles at Discovery-branded networks are also to be cut. Those networks include Discovery Channel, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Science Channel, Animal Planet, Food Network, HGTV, TNT, TBS and truTV.
In 2022, there were several reductions in staff in the area of Warner Bros. Television. Around 70 jobs were eliminated. About 50 jobs were cut in the sports digital department last week.
It’s unclear when exactly people will start to be shown the door, but the belief is that it will begin this summer.
