The 2024 Republican presidential primary is heating up. Sean Hannity is questioning whether everyone entering the race deserves the same coverage.
During The Sean Hannity Show Tuesday, the radio host asked his audience whether or not each potential candidate deserves equal time.
“Some candidates felt we were playing favorites. The tendency is to cover the people that are much higher in the polls than people who don’t do so well in the polls,” Hannity said.
Hannity mentioned that, as Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) prepares to enter the race with a Wednesday announcement on Twitter with Elon Musk, this isn’t the first time he has encountered a situation where candidates felt they had been treated unfairly by his popular show.
“We run into this problem every time we have a primary season. We have all these candidates in the race, and we try to make time so you, the voter, can make an informed decision…We pay attention, we listen to our audience, and I think it’s in everybody’s best interest to hear from everyone.”
The question came after Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) entered the race, joining a field already featuring former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), former Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR), and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, among others. The host welcomed Scott to his program after the discussion.
Hannity added that he has a town hall event scheduled with former President Donald Trump, the current Republican frontrunner, in the next two weeks.
