The Museum of Broadcast Communications has announced the 2023 nominees for the Radio Hall of Fame.
24 nominees were chosen by the committee, with input from industry veterans and radio listeners. More than 800 industry officials will receive a confidential online ballot later this week to cast their votes for up to six nominees.
After industry voting has been tabulated, six nominees will be selected. Two additional nominees will be selected by the Radio Hall of Fame Nominating Committee to select the eight-person class of 2023.
Several news/talk radio personalities were listed in the nominations. 710 WOR host Mark Simone, former 1010 WINS morning news anchor Lee Harris, longtime conservative radio host Larry Elder, and KFI AM-640 hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou were all on the list of those nominated for induction.
“Congratulations to each of this year’s nominees on this recognition. Behind this slate of nominees, the Nominating Committee reviewed more than 2500 incoming suggestions from industry members and listeners before determining this group of talented individuals,” Kraig Kitchin, co-chairman of the Radio Hall of Fame, said. “Each nominee is deserving of induction, and I look forward to the results of the forthcoming confidential voting results.”
