The recent arrest and arraignment of Donald Trump has led to differing legal opinions across the political spectrum. Mike Gallagher has argued that he’ll believe what Mark Levin believes.
“If you’ve heard Mark Levin talk about this, he’s a lawyer. He’s written extensively about the Supreme Court,” said Gallagher. “He’s a smart cookie. (Levin says) a President can take any documents he wants under the Presidential Records Act. You’re seeing a lot of stuff on social media that that’s not true. The government’s position is that’s not true, apparently.”
Gallagher then mentioned that differing reports, including a report from The Washington Post that claims Trump rejected advice from his lawyers about how to handle inquiries from the government about his classified documents, make him question what he is reading, hearing, and seeing.
“I admit, I’m confused,” Gallagher said. “I’m reading this Washington Post report and I’m thinking ‘Well, it’s The Washington Post‘. I hope it’s wrong. If it’s right, what was he thinking?…Is it true that he’s following advice from Tom Fitton? He’s a good guy. I’ve interviewed (Judicial Watch president) Tom Fitton. He’s not a lawyer. He’s not the President’s lawyer. Maybe the President needs to pay attention to his lawyers.”
Gallagher was in Miami Tuesday as Trump was arraigned on 37 charges in relation to his handling of classified documents. He broadcasted his nationally syndicated radio show from the Salem Media Group studios in the city before going to the federal courthouse and interviewing Trump supporters on the grounds.
