Several hours after news broke that WFAN afternoon host Craig Carton would be leaving the station, an unconfirmed report surfaced on Twitter Thursday night. It stated that midday host Tiki Barber would soon be announced as Carton’s replacement.
Author and former New York Daily News and The Athletic NFL columnist Gary Myers tweeted that the former New York Giants running back is planning to be named the new PM drive co-host alongside Evan Roberts on Monday.
Tiki has worked in media since his retirement from the NFL following the 2006 season. He originally began as a featured contributor to Today on NBC.
If true that Barber is going to be joining Roberts in the afternoons, that leaves a vacancy with Tierney in middays at WFAN. Myers was asked in the replies to his tweet if he had any knowledge of Barber’s potential replacement. He indicated that he didn’t know anything about the station’s plans for that slot.
