The radio voice of the Buffalo Bills will have a decision to make regarding his presence in the team’s broadcast booth coming up very soon. John Murphy has done play-by-play for Bills games since 2004. He succeeded Van Miller, who retired after the 2003 season.

Murphy had a stroke earlier this year just ahead of the Bills/Bengals Monday night game on Jan. 2. He was spotted at Bills minicamp last week but turned down a request to be interviewed by The Buffalo News.

John did text saying he’s going to know right before training camp begins next month.

“I’m going to wait until late July before I decide whether to come back,” the text said. “Still some recovery to do.”

If Murphy doesn’t come back, Chris Brown will continue to call play-by-play for games on WGR. Eric Wood is returning as the color commentator.
