Brandon Tierney: You Don’t Have a Show Until You Build Trust

We’re still a month away from the new lineup going into effect at WFAN, and host Brandon Tierney knows both he and co-host Tiki Barber will be starting fresh in terms of developing a rapport and relationship with their new partners.

On Monday’s edition of Tiki & Tierney, Brandon said initially it’s always an adjustment after doing a show with a co-host for a longer period of time.

“You’re gonna have to learn a new partner, I’m gonna have to learn a new partner,” he said. “When you do a show with somebody that many years, there’s just a level of comfort. That’s all there is to it.”

“You said the most important word,” Barber responded. “It’s just trust.”

Tierney expounded on that a little further, saying when you reach a certain level of trust with your co-host, the possibilities for your show are endless.

“That’s what I told Sal (Licata) the other day,” he said. “I said the fireworks, the yelling, the craziness, the awesomeness – when that bridge of trust is built, now you have a show. That doesn’t happen overnight.”

Barber will join Evan Roberts in afternoon drive, and Tierney will welcome Licata to middays starting July 24. Craig Carton’s final show with Roberts is Friday. Carton is moving on to focus on his FS1 morning show full-time.
