After announcing Kaitlan Collins would take over the 9:00 PM ET timeslot, CNN has now dubbed the new program “The Source with Kaitlan Collins“.
The network began airing promos during the 4th of July celebration, showcasing the new branding for the program led by the 31-year-old.
CNN announced that Collins would take over the window after her highly contentious town hall interview with former President Donald Trump. Speculation began circulating the day of the event that now-former CNN CEO Chris Licht had tabbed Collins for the spot, but official confirmation didn’t come until Warner Bros. Discovery’s upfront event in mid-May.
The program had been operating under an interim CNN Primetime brand while Collins acclimatized herself to the show and timeslot.
The 9:00 PM ET window had been unoccupied since the high-profile exit of Chris Cuomo from the network.
Since debuting on the primetime program, Collins has continually finished in third place in the cable news ratings, lagging well behind Fox News’ Hannity and MSNBC’s Alex Wagner Tonight.
The Source with Kaitlan Collins will officially debut on Monday, July 10th.
