HBO is cancelling Game Theory with Bomani Jones. The show lasted just two seasons.
Game Theory debuted on HBO in March 2022, with episodes airing after Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. When season two arrived, the network aired the show after episodes of Real Time with Bill Maher.
Low viewership was said to be the driving factor for the program not being picked up for a third season according to Outkick. Though the show may not remain part of HBO’s programming schedule, Jones is expected to continue hosting his podcast for ESPN.

HBO has made numerous attempts to lure sports fans to the network for talk shows to no avail. Bill Simmons, Joe Buck, Bob Costas, and now Jones, have all hosted shows for HBO that ultimately were discontinued.
