Longtime ESPN reporter Gene Wojciechowski is no longer with the network. Wojciechowski revealed on Monday that his final day with The Worldwide Leader was on June 30.
Wojciechowski becomes yet another one of several well-known talents across the network to be sent packing. Names like Max Kellerman, Suzy Kolber, Jalen Rose, Keyshawn Johnson and Todd McShay were just a few who were notified they were either being let go or their contracts were not being renewed.
ESPN parent company Disney has laid off 7,000 employees in recent months in cost-cutting measures.
Wojciechowski had contributed to shows like College GameDay, SportsCenter, SC Featured and other projects at the network. His primary coverage areas included college football and golf. He had been with ESPN in a full-time capacity since 1997.
