There is no telling when we will see Michael Irvin on television again. AJ Perez of Front Office Sports reports that “The Playmaker” remains suspended by NFL Network.
Irvin was taken off of television during Super Bowl week. He was accused of sexual harassment by an employee of the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel.
Both NFL Network and ESPN took Irvin off air after the allegations became public. He also claims that he has had public appearances for both businesses and charities cancelled as a result. He dropped the initial lawsuit filed against the accuser. He has amended and re-filed a lawsuit against Marriott.
This would be the fifteenth season on NFL Network for Michael Irvin. A source at the network tells Perez that his status remains unchanged. That leaves his return in time for the 2023 season very much in doubt.
No hearing has been set in the case, which could explain the lack of movement by NFL Network.
Irvin was a regular presence on ESPN’s First Take during the football season. While that network has not made any public comment, host Stephen A. Smith has mentioned that Irvin is still a part of the show’s rotation on his podcast.
