Charlotte Spring Ratings Book Shows Big Growth for WFNZ

No football and bad basketball didn’t stop Charlotte sports fans from tuning into WFNZ during the spring ratings book. The station saw growth in every daypart with top five finishes in mornings, middays and afternoons.

Mac & Bone were in a tie for second place overall. Their share rose from a 5.1 in the 2022 spring book to a 7.4 this year.

The midday block made up of Charlotte Sports Today and Wes & Walker also saw a drastic rise. The block had a 3.8 share in 2022. The latest ratings book puts it at a 6.6. That is good enough for number four in the time slot.

Kyle Bailey nearly doubled his ratings in afternoon drive. He took The Clubhouse from 11th to 5th in the time slot, growing his show from a 3.0 to a 5.8.

The station also saw growth with its overall numbers. Year-over-year, WFNZ took its full week (M-Su 6A-Mid) numbers from a 2.8 to a 5.3. That puts the station in 6th. Weekday prime hours grew from a 4.2 to a 6.8, good enough for 4th place.
