Former CBS News Radio Vice President Craig Swagler has been named President and General Manager of Your Public Radio in Baltimore.
In his new role, Swagler will oversee News/Talk 88.1 WYPR in Baltimore, 99.1 WYPF in Frederick, 106.9 WYPO in Ocean City, and 89.7 WTMD in Towson.
“I am thrilled to be joining the outstanding team of content creators, storytellers, and journalists at Your Public Radio,” said Swagler. “It is an honor to serve Baltimore by amplifying issues, stories, and events of the community’s rich cultural heritage… I look forward to working together to expand the influence and reach of Your Public Radio as an essential part of Marylander lives.”
He departed CBS News Radio last week after 22 years. Swagler mentioned in his memo announcing his departure that he would move to Baltimore to be closer to family.
“We are thrilled to welcome Craig Swagler as the new general manager and president of Your Public Radio,” said Your Public Radio Board Char Lisa Manzone. “We are confident that Craig’s leadership will lead Your Public Radio to even greater heights.”
Swagler will begin his duties on Tuesday, August 1st.
