Happy Valley has sports talk radio back on its airwaves. Sports Radio 98.7 The Fox has officially launched in State College, Pennsylvania.
SkyWave Broadcasting is airing FOX Sports Radio under a local marketing agreement from Covenant Communications until its $325,000 purchase of the station is completed.
98.7 formerly operated as a classic country station until earlier this year. Former owner Seven Mountains Media acquired several stations in a $17.375 million purchase of 34 Pennsylvania stations. 98.7 was one of four Seven Mountains stations transferred to Covenant Communications as a merging of similarly formatted stations.
ESPN 1450 was retired as a result of the shuffling, leaving the area without a sports talk station for the last six months.
