The search for a new co-host of Undisputed on FS1 alongside Skip Bayless continues, and the latest reports indicate that Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman is a leading candidate.
On the Monday edition of Never Shut Up, Marcellus Wiley said he didn’t anticipate that being the direction Bayless wanted to go in with a co-host, but he is a fan.
“Sherman’s just a talker, man,” Wiley said. “Smart dude, even though you don’t fit the description, I like the new description.”
Wiley also said it could be a smart move on Bayless’s part. It would give Skip a chance to bury the hatchet and work with someone he had publicly feuded with all those years ago.
“This is the best way for Skip to put a wet blanket on this narrative or reality that he’s a jealous hater,” he said. “Oh let me go grab Richard Sherman, I thought I hated him? Let me go grab Jalen Rose, I thought I hated him? That’s smart. That’s why Skip is Skip, man.”
Marcellus also touched on the narrative that Bayless needs to add a Black voice to the show, saying Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe are two prime examples of Bayless striking gold having a Black co-host.
“That sucker didn’t make not one, but two superstars,” Wiley said.
