Rich Zeoli Returns to 1210 WPHT After Medical Leave

After missing more than two weeks, 1210 WPHT host Rich Zeoli returned to the airwaves Wednesday afternoon.

Zeoli underwent surgery to remove 18 inches of his colon after an ongoing bout of diverticulosis.

“I am back and so happy to be back,” The Rich Zeoli Show host said to open Wednesday’s show. “Thank you for putting up with my absence. And thank you to my amazing, amazing guest hosts who filled in for me while I was recovering from surgery.

“I got a ton of wonderful notes and emails and tweets and Facebook comments. So thank you. Thank you. I appreciate it. And thank you to the amazing doctors and nurses and healthcare workers at Cooper University Health Care for taking such great care of me.”

Zeoli mentioned he has a long road to complete recovery, but is optimistic.

“It’s going to be a little bit of a long recovery. The doctor told me originally it’s going to be about eight weeks till I get my full energy back, so I may be a little low energy between now and then,” Zeoli admitted. “That’s okay because we’re gonna we’re gonna rock and roll. I mean, me at low energy me at 30% is still better than most of the national hosts out there at 100%.”

He went on to say that his surgeon asked him how he would be able to complete a four-hour daily show with his usual energy. Zeoli joked that with the amount of drugs on the streets of Philadelphia, he wouldn’t be searching long for a pick-me-up.
