CNN has announced that The New Republic senior political correspondent Daniel Strauss is joining the network in a similar role.
Strauss will cover national politics and be based in Washington D.C. for CNN as the 2024 presidential election cycle heats up. According to the network, Straus will cover “the political trends that emerge and the issues that are top of mind for voters.”
Before joining The New Republic, Strauss spent time as a Washington-based reporter for The Guardian, Politico, and Talking Points Memo.
His first journalism job was covering breaking news for The Hill.
The addition of Strauss is the latest of several additions CNN has made as the 2024 presidential election cycle continues. In recent weeks the network has added former Biden White House official Kate Bedingfield as a political analyst.
It has also announced that former CNBC host Kayla Tausche would join the network as Senior White House Correspondent.
