Bucky Godbolt, Mike Hardge, Cameron Parker, Tyler Campbell Exit The Horn FM

As The Horn in Austin proceeds with dropping sports talk from its frequency on 104.9 FM, owner Genuine Austin Radio has parted ways with a number of staffers.

Hosts Mike Hardge, Bucky Godbolt and Tyler Campbell, as well as producer Cameron Parker, were all let go.

“Thank you to all of you. It has been absolutely a blast to get into your hearts, get into your cars,” said Godbolt Friday morning. Bucky co-hosted Mornings with Bucky & Erin alongside Erin Hogan since 1999. “It’s been great. It’s not all about what I’ve done for you. It’s what you’ve done for me, and I appreciate it.”

“Yall are my boys regardless of what happens after today,” Hardge said on Friday’s edition of Ball Don’t Lie to co-host Rod Babers and producer Patrick Davis. “Yall are good people. Yall’s hearts are in the right place all the time. We have different levels of friendships with other people, but what I truly feel about you two is outstanding.”

“You all made the show what it became,” said Campbell, who hosted Real Lyfe Reel Talk with TC Speaks on Saturdays. “And I’m so grateful to have your listening ears.”

“Special thank you to everybody at The Horn for taking somebody who had no radio background – just somebody who had a message and a heart to serve – and giving me an opportunity to be over the radio waves,” he added.

Parker revealed the news of his departure on Thursday night on Twitter. He thanked Craig Way and Jeff Howe, hosts of Light the Tower, and said he would miss the conversations.

The Horn will continue on 101.9 FM and 1260 AM, but the station is going to be adopting more syndicated programming instead of local programming. The station recently lost its broadcast rights to University of Texas athletics but remains the Austin radio home of the Texas Rangers.
