97.5 The Fanatic host John Kincade posted to Instagram on Wednesday to show off his fresh haircut and update fans on his cancer treatment.
Kincade revealed his Stage 3 colon cancer diagnosis to Fanatic listeners back in May, and a little more than two weeks removed from surgery he was back on the air. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments, and as a result, Kincade’s hair is starting to fall out.
“My hair started to fall out, and I decided I’m taking charge,” he said. “And anyone who knows me knows how important my hair is to me. So this better grow back. They’ve told me it will.”
Kincade is four chemo treatments in out of 12. He said he felt like he was in a good place physically.
“I feel good, I feel strong,” he said. “This is just one of those little bumps in the road. And that’s where the adversity sets in and you have to find a way to get through it.”
John thanked fans and listeners for their support and said anyone in Philly with a hat business that would want to partner with him he would be happy to rock whatever on the air and out and about.
“I am not getting sunburned on this big dome,” he joked.
