Minihane originally joined Barstool Sports in 2019 after departing WEEI. Kirk shared then that he signed a contract extension that would end on Saturday, June 15th, 2024. He said his final show for Barstool would be on June 14th, 2024 when he would be 50 years old and ready for a different challenge at that stage of his life.

However, it appears the relationship between Minihane and Barstool is going strong, thus resulting in an extension of the relationship.

At Barstool, Minihane has dabbled in subjects outside of sports. His work on the true crime podcast The Case led to the arrest of a South Carolina man for the murder of an accomplice.
