Vince Coglianese: NBC News Report on Ron DeSantis Purposely Inaccurate

An interview between NBC News reporter Dasha Burns and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) on his stance on abortion, if he were to become President, caught the ire of WMAL’s Vince Coglianese.

During the interview, DeSantis said he “will be a pro-life President and we will support pro-life policies”. He added that he would not support protections — claiming that his opponents on the other side of the political aisle endorsed — that would allow abortion until the moment of birth.

Burns pushed back on that insinuation, calling it a “misrepresentation of what’s happening”. She said that 1.3% of abortions happen at 21 weeks or later, and that there are no Democrats pushing for abortions until birth.

During The Vince Coglianese Show, the Washington D.C.-based host argued that the facts show a different stance.

“There is no indication of Democrats pushing for that?” Coglianese questioned. “She said that without citing any source whatsoever.”

He then welcomed Curtis Houck, the Managing Editor of NewsBusters, to the program and discussed the statements made by Burns as purposely misleading.
