Even though Keyshawn Johnson was announced as part of the layoffs earlier this summer at ESPN, The Worldwide Leader could be the reason Johnson doesn’t join FS1’s Undisputed as originally announced.
Reporting in the New York Post on Tuesday indicated that Johnson hasn’t been fully released from his ESPN contract yet. When he was let go by the network, Johnson was in the second year of a five-year, $18 million contract. It was believed that Keyshawn would continue to be paid the remainder of what ESPN owed him.
But it appears that some fine print in his deal could prevent him from joining forces with Skip Bayless.

All indications are that Johnson will have to negotiate some kind of formal exit from his contract in order to make the jump.
