It’s been a little while since FOX Sports Radio host Brady Quinn was behind center at Notre Dame, but Quinn hasn’t forgotten getting heckled on the road at USC by actor Will Ferrell.
Quinn, who was at Notre Dame from 2003-06, and Ferrell both appeared on The Dan Patrick Show live from Dublin, Ireland on Wednesday. Notre Dame opens its 2023 season with a game against Navy in the Irish capital.
Brady told Will, a USC alum, to repeat a few phrases he remembered hearing Ferrell yell at him on the sidelines of the L.A. Coliseum. Ferrell said he wasn’t sure where he was in vicinity of Quinn.
“In this case you were definitely on the field,” Quinn said. “Or at least I thought it was you.”
“Hey number 10, your pants are too high!” Ferrell said to laughter.
“I know it’s been a long time, but that’s definitely him,” Quinn replied.
“I literally looked at my backup and I was like, ‘Is that Will Ferrell?'” he added. “I was like, ‘Are my pants too high? And I was like, ‘I mean I know I have long legs, but I mean geez.’ That was probably all I was thinking about for the next five minutes. It was definitely a great tactic.”
“Hey number 10, you run awkwardly!” Ferrell yelled.
Quinn figured it out, and Will explained that instead of going with personal attacks about a player, he’ll come up with something different.
Later on Quinn and Ferrell would get into a brief wrestling match. It ended when Brady lifted Will off his feet.
