“It’s been an absolute pleasure,” ESPN Radio host Jay Williams said in his final show at the network on Thursday.
Williams had a chance to put in some final words before he moves on from ESPN, and he said doing a four-hour radio show is increadibly difficult.
“It takes a lot of conversations. It takes a lot of thought,” he said. “A lot of people have to bring it each and every day.”
In addition to the folks behind the scenes who helped make him better or bring him out of his shell, Williams had to make sure he thanked former co-hosts Keyshawn Johnson and Max Kellerman for their work.
“Those guys are always my brothers, and I know they will strive and continue to do incredible things,” Williams said.
Jay added that it’s been an incredible learning experience and he was glad to have been along for the journey.
“I’ve learned so much about myself battling through this show and really learning and participating in football conversation every day,” he said. “Sharing my life, my basketball stories, making fun of myself in ways that I never thought I would.”
