Kristen Welker began her tenure hosting Meet the Press Sunday with an interview featuring former President Donald Trump. 710 WOR host Mark Simone believes it is more of the same from the program.
During a conversation with Joe Concha on The Mark Simone Show Tuesday, the New York host argued that Welker will feed into — not change — the anti-Trump direction of the show.
They get a new moderator. Now all they do on Meet the Press is hate Donald Trump. ‘He’s disgusting. He’s repulsive’. They can’t stand him. Then they get a new moderate. They plead with him to come on the show. They beg him to come give him some ratings. And I don’t know why, but he’s nice enough to do it,” Simone said.
“What do you think of this new Meet the Press? I thought she was just awful. Like a bad prosecutor.”
Concha replied by calling Welker “Chuck Todd in a dress”.
“I’m sorry,” said Concha. “Nothing’s gonna change at Meet the Press until Tim Russert literally comes back from the dead. This is the show that we’re stuck with.”
