Chattanooga’s Talk Radio 102.3 FM is pairing Jed Mescon and Jim Reynolds for Jed and JR Mornings on the Cumulus-owned station.
Mescon was named Program Director of both Talk Radio 102.3 FM (WGOW/FM) and News Radio 1150 WGOW-AM in August. He previously spent 28 years in local television in the market.
“I spent 28 years waking up at 2:45 am to bring the news to Chattanooga. This brings me back to my roots, doing both news and co-hosting mornings from 6-9 am on WGOW Talk Radio 102.3,” Mescon said.
Reynolds remains on the morning show. The Tennessee Radio Hall of Famer has been a legend in the Chattanooga market, serving as the radio play-by-play voice of the UT-Chattanooga Mocs football and basketball teams since 1980.
“Jed and JR are among the most recognizable and trusted talents in the market. The combination of their energy, enthusiasm, and positivity is perfectly suited for morning drive,” Cumulus Chattanooga Operations Manager Scott Chase said.
Jed and JR Mornings will air from 6-9 AM. The station has added Brad Griese as the show’s producer and contributor. He’ll now also host a one-hour show following the morning program.
Brian Joyce Unfiltered will be heard on the station from 10 AM-12 PM.
“Brian Joyce has a lot to say, and this new time slot gives him the opportunity to dig into the issues that the community is talking about,” Chase added.
