ESPN has built an undeniable chemistry within its NFL talent roster. Adam Schefter has shared his enjoyment of working with former NFL head coach Rex Ryan.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter was asked about the potential of Ryan leaving ESPN to join the Denver Broncos as its new defensive coordinator. The longtime NFL insider threw cold water on that insinuation.
“Rex is not going to Denver right now,” Schefter said confidently.
“I had a couple people tell me that this morning that there was a chance that he was gonna get approached or targeted by them,” McAfee replied.
“You know who my source is there on that? Rex! We were talking about it yesterday,” Schefter chuckled.
He then mentioned that he believes Ryan truly still has “the coaching bug”, sharing that he wouldn’t be shocked if Ryan coached again, but is unlikely to leave ESPN for the Broncos at the current time.
Schefter then shared his admiration for his colleague, saying “Right now, his job is with ESPN. He does a great job with that, and I love working with him as a teammate.”
