Michael Berry has been adding affiliates for his nationally syndicated show in recent months. He says with the increased success comes increased scrutiny.
During The Michael Berry Show Tuesday, Berry revealed that he often fields calls wondering why he isn’t talking about the topics being discussed on Fox News.
“Some of my listeners are already listening to other shows, whether that’s Clay (Travis) and Buck (Sexton) or Glenn (Beck), Mark (Levin), or something else. So I don’t feel the need to talk about whatever is the top story on Fox News, The Washington Post, or The New York Times. I know that is upsetting to somebody. Some people want to hear the same discussion over and over again,” posited Berry.
“It drives our program directors crazy. How can we not talk about the school shooting? Because if you would stop talking about school shootings, the school shootings would stop or would reduce dramatically.”
Michael Berry turned the discussion to claim that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is intensely complicated and is the reason why he hasn’t discussed the situation all that frequently.
“It is absolutely the most complicated geopolitical situation in the world,” Berry said after discussing why he doesn’t want to discuss topics he’s not supremely educated on. “The first school of thought (from listeners) is ‘You’re controlled by the corporate media’…Ok.”
