FOX college football broadcaster Tim Brando has never shied away from speaking his mind, even if it rattles a hornet’s nest or two on social media along the way.
Brando was a guest on The Stingray Show on Tide 100.9 in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday, and he said as much with regard to not wearing a filter in life and even on television.
“I always say what I see when it comes to life itself and college football for me is no different,” Brando said. “And if I happen to be wrong I’m certainly going to see it pointed out on social media.”
Tim added that while viewers and fans may not like some of the takes he has on their particular teams or players, he’s just putting his thoughts out there in a genuine way.
“Fans need to understand I don’t get paid for my opinions. I just give them like anybody else,” he said. “I’m not looking for clicks. That’s for the guys that are on daytime cable television, ok? They get paid for clicks, I don’t. I get paid to call football games.
“I make observations and answer questions to guys like you because you ask me to,” Tim Brando continued. “And when you ask, I answer, and I’m gonna give you what I believe to be in my heart and soul the truth. And that doesn’t mean it’s gonna be accurate. It does mean it’s gonna be from the gut and an honest opinion.”
“You might be wrong a ton, but you’re right three tons, right?” co-host Heath Hopkins said jokingly.
Tim Brando laughed in agreeance.
He later reposted the video on Twitter saying hopefully what he had to say sticks with open-minded fans.
