Former Salem Radio Network host Larry Elder suspended his campaign for the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination, which began in April, after announcing his decision to Tucker Carlson.
Under the “We’ve Got A Country To Save” campaign slogan, Elder failed to gain much traction in the race. Former President Donald Trump is one of the favorites to win the Republican nomination. As a result, Elder is now endorsing Trump.
Elder didn’t accumulate adequate support in the polls to partake in the GOP Presidential Primary Debates. Elder’s former employer, Salem Media Group, will be co-hosting the third debate with NBC News.
“As I look at the path forward, and after careful consideration and consultation with my campaign team, I have made the difficult decision to suspend my campaign,” a statement from Elder posted on X/Twitter read.
“Now that I am exiting the race, I am proud to announce my endorsement of Donald Trump for President of the United States.”
This presidential run isn’t the first time that Elder has made a run for a government position. In 2021, the former radio host sought to replace California Gov. Gavin Newsom in a recall but was unsuccessful.
