Pat McCarthy Recovering After Being Struck By Car

New York Mets radio announcer Pat McCarthy is on the mend after being struck by a car while jogging earlier this week.

McCarthy recently completed his first season as a member of the radio crew for the New York Mets. Before joining the MLB radio booth, McCarthy called AAA games for the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.

His father, Tom McCarthy, is the television voice of the Philadelphia Phillies. He also calls the NFL on CBS and Westwood One.

The elder McCarthy gave an update on his son’s condition Friday, saying “Pat is recovering more and more each day and maybe no marathons in the foreseeable future, but plenty of (baseball) and (basketball) ahead!”
