As the Arizona Coyotes and the Phoenix Suns have transitioned their local game broadcast coverage away from Bally Sports in light of the Diamond Sports Group bankruptcy, the Coyotes can’t completely close the book on the matter.
The team filed in Texas bankruptcy court recently that Diamond Sports Group owes them $18 million as a result of ending their rights contract. Diamond Sports has claimed that Bally Sports Arizona was losing the company money.
Bloomberg reported that it will be hashed out in bankruptcy court since the debt is considered unsecured. It’s likely the Coyotes won’t recover the full $18 million.
