Altitude Sports Radio 92.5 FM has announced Darren McKee as its new midday host, joining the already-established Tyler Polumbus and Scott Hastings.
The addition was announced on the Denver sports station Wednesday morning.
“Say you’re dating a girl, theoretically, right? And she’s got a younger sister. And that sister, you don’t think much about it. I feel like the girl that I was dating, her sister grew up to be Miss Universe,” McKee joked after the announcement was made on Moser, Lombardi, and Kane. “And now I dumped the sister.”
The Denver host joins Altitude Sports Radio as the station eclipsed Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan in the Nielsen ratings for the first time in the previous quarter. The station garnered a 5.3 share in the men 25-54 demographic. Meanwhile, 104.3 The Fan earned a 4.5 share.
Darren McKee is a Denver sports radio mainstay, spending the past 24 years on the air in Colorado. McKee — affectionately known as DMac on the air — was let go from Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan in mid-September as part of a lineup shuffle.
He steps into the role previously held by Josh Dover at Altitude Sports Radio, who departed the station to join 104.3 The Fan to partner with Brandon Stockley from 10 AM-2 PM.
“We are excited to add Darren to our new and improved midday P.H.D. Show,” said KSE Radio’s Senior Vice President & General Manager Dave Fleck. “He is a respected member of the community whose work ethic and passion for broadcasting will help take our radio stations to new heights. Having DMac as part of Altitude Sports Radio, allows us to reconfigure our daily lineup while adding a great voice to the station.”
The new Altitude Sports Radio host joked that he’s being brought in to bring the average height of the program with Polumbus and Hastings, who each stand at 6’8 and 6’10, respectively.
Polumbus, Hastings, and DMac will air weekdays from 12-3 PM.
