The “tush push” play employed by the Philadelphia Eagles has become a divisive issue in football circles. Many believe the play should be outlawed, while others appreciate how unstoppable it is. 94 WIP host Joe Giglio enjoys the conversation that surrounds the team and play.
The Dallas Cowboys radio broadcast railed against the play Sunday, which was clipped, published to social media, and went viral after the team’s loss to the Eagles.
“You know, Stephen Jones (Cowboys Vice President and CEO) is on the competition committee, right? He’s got to stand up in that room and say, ‘We need to ban this,'” Cowboys analyst Babe Laufenber said on the broadcast after a successful first down was gained by the Eagles using the play.
Both Laufenberg and Brad Sham shared the sentiment that the play “isn’t football”, which puzzled Giglio and co-host Hugh Douglas.
“I don’t understand. How is it not football? It’s the equivalent of a goal-line play. I know a lot of people don’t like it, but it doesn’t bother me. If you don’t like it, stop it. Figure it out.”
That’s when Giglio said he enjoys the conversations.
“I’m at the point where I need this,” Joe Giglio joked. “I want to hear the other side complain after every single one of these.”
