NHL Network is debuting new talent added to its on-air lineup.
Alexa Landestoy began hosting On The Fly on Tuesday night, while 13-year NHL goaltender Cory Schneider will make his first of several regular appearances across NHL Network programming tonight on NHL Tonight.
Landestoy has contributed to Emmy-winning coverage of the Washington Capitals for NBC Sports Washington/Monumental Sports Network for the last four seasons.
“I’ve seen first-hand how special the NHL is from covering the Washington Capitals and now I couldn’t be more excited to add to my role and cover the league as a whole!” Landestoy said. “I’m a fan at heart and can’t wait to get to work!”
Schneider started the season as a guest analyst before transitioning into his new role. As a goalie, Schneider recorded 171 wins and a .918 save percentage. He won the William M. Jennings Trophy in 2011 for fewest goals allowed and was an all-star in 2016. He retired in September after stints with the New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks.
NHL Network vice president of production Josh Bernstein said adding Landestoy and Schneider in addition to Brian Boyle, Thomas Hickey, and Bruce Boudreau allows for some versatility in analysis and perspective.
“We’re always looking for fresh energy and new perspectives, so it’s a thrill to bring Cory and
Alexa to the team,” he said. “You can never have enough goalie insight, and the fact that we’re able to add Cory’s astute knowledge to the mix is a perfect fit for us. And having Alexa part of On The Fly, one of our most important programs, is a fantastic addition. She’s going to fit right in and be able to deliver the night’s best action in an entertaining and informative way.”
