Industry insiders are speculating whether Joe Rogan will renew his podcast contract with Spotify, reportedly up for renewal in the coming months.
According to Bloomberg, everyone has a different opinion on what Rogan should do and what that could mean for Spotify’s podcast strategy overall. While it’s still unclear what will happen next year, there are some signs to watch for. One such signal is Rogan’s recent appearance at a Spotify advertiser event in Austin, which took place on his home turf.
As per insiders, Spotify arranged a corporate-sponsored event last month for podcast ad agencies and brand representatives. The event took place in Texas and lasted for an entire day. Attendees were treated to a Grand Prix experience, which included a 40-minute meet-and-greet session with Dax Shepard and his Eff Won podcast co-hosts.
The group later dined at In Cahoots, a private event space, where Rogan joined them. The famous podcaster spent approximately 45 minutes mingling with attendees, taking pictures, and exchanging pleasantries. The conversation was mostly casual and didn’t revolve around serious industry topics.
However, the fact that Rogan was promoting the platform signifies that there may still be a future between him and the company.
