In August, Kevin Graham departed his role as Program Director at KNBR after being diagnosed with bladder cancer. He has now shared an encouraging update.
Graham appeared with Scott Garrard and Hans Olsen on KSL Sports Zone in Salt Lake City, and shared the positive progress.
“Healthwise, I’m improving,” Graham said. “Bladder is officially clean of tumors and now I’m in the process of 3 weeks of preventative chemo. Fully recovery will take some time, but at least I’m on my way.”
The news is encouraging for Graham, who has been well-traveled in his radio career. Prior to joining KNBR in July of 2021, Graham had been with Cumulus in Dallas, where he ran WBAP and KLIF. His prior stops include programming posts at WEEI in Boston, the now-defunct KFAN Radio in Salt Lake City, WDFN in Detroit, ESPN New York, The Fan in Columbus, The Zone in Salt Lake City, and Sports 620 in Phoenix.
The announcement of Graham’s progress comes after KNBR announced his replacement. Afternoon host Adam Copeland was tabbed to replace Graham as Program Director of KNBR 104.5/680, KNBR 1050, and 810 The Spread.
There are plenty of good guys in this business. If you’ve been it long enough, you’ve either worked for, worked with or simply run into these good guys on a regular basis. Kevin is all that and then some. All of us in this business recognize the ongoing challenges we face. None of that comes near in comparison to what Kevin has gone through and is still dealing with today.
He has faced those challenges head on. I consider Kevin a good friend and wish him all the best during his recovery.
We got ya Kev!!!
