Hunter Brody is joining SportsRadio 94WIP. The former 97.5 The Fanatic confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon on X, formerly known as Twitter. The news, which was first reported by Crossing Broad, will bring him back to the terrestrial radio scene as a part-time host. The role, which will reportedly be primarily during weekends to begin, will allow him to continue his work on YouTube with his own independent media venture, Brodes Media.
“Super excited for the opportunity to join @SportsRadioWIP,” Brody said in a post on X. “I can’t wait to be back on the airwaves talking to the greatest fans in the world!!”
Brody previously appeared on 97.5 The Fanatic as part of The Best Show Ever? with Tyrone Johnson, Ricky Bottalico and Jen Scordo. The program replaced The Mike Missanelli Show in the programming lineup and lost Brody during a round of layoffs within the company.
Brody is a former college hockey player who made the decision to start working in sports media after his sophomore season. He began his own YouTube channel, “Sports Talk with Brodes,” where he would post videos daily after Philadelphia Phillies, 76ers, Eagles and Flyers games to give his thoughts on all the action. While he was in school, he had the opportunity to intern with 97.3 ESPN in Atlantic City, N.J. and eventually started working as a producer at the station.
After hosting the afternoon drive-time show for a year in southern New Jersey, 97.5 The Fanatic hired Brody as a digital sports influencer. When the afternoon drive daypart became available, Brody was included in the new program and provided his insights and expertise on Philadelphia sports every weekday.
