Sid Rosenberg: ‘I Wouldn’t Trade This Job for Any Other Job in the World’

Many radio hosts will take the week between Christmas and New Year’s off. 77 WABC host Sid Rosenberg is in that group and believes the holiday break is coming at an opportune time for him in 2023.

“I need it. This car is out of gas. I’m tired. I really am,” Rosenberg admitted. “I’m dead. I give a lot, and it doesn’t always come with reward. You know, I get plenty of aggravation. Plenty of aggravation. And nonsense. But that’s ok.”

Rosenberg continued his opening monologue on Sid and Friends in the Morning Friday by mentioning that it was his final show of the year, and despite the fact that he needs the time to recharge, he can’t envision himself doing anything else.

“I wouldn’t trade this job for any other job in the world. I love WABC, you guys know that. I’ve been doing this now for 26 years. Unbelievable. I’ve been doing radio for 26 years, and I’ve never lasted for more than four or five years at one job, including the epic stay in the early 2000s at WFAN. This is going on eight.”

Sid Rosenberg then concluded by claiming that since 77WABC moved him to mornings in replacement of Don Imus, the station has seen its best performances in the New York radio ratings.

“We have no remorse when we do things our way. We’re proud of the work we do here every morning. And we’re looking forward to a great 2024.”
