92.9 The Game Continues Overall Ratings Growth in Atlanta Fall Book

92.9 The Game in Atlanta has ended 2023 with strong growth in the fall ratings book according to the latest Nielsen Audio numbers. With a broad offering of local sports talk shows and live play-by-play rights, the station continues to increase its reach in many key dayparts within Men 25-54.

The outlet unveiled a change in the mornings in March 2023 with a new program titled The Morning Shift featuring Tiffany Blackmon, Mike Johnson and Beau Morgan (6a-9a). For the fall book, the trio attained a 7.5 share, good for fourth overall. That figure was a four-tenths improvement from the summer book. Mornings were also up for the full year from 11th in 2022 to 3rd in 2023. The 6a-10a timeslot also improved by 1.5 points year-over-year.

The early midday slot featuring The Steakhouse with Steak Shapiro and Sandra Golden (9a-11a) garnered a 5.7 share, fourth-place finish for the quarter. That was a 2.4 decrease from the summer book when the program was second with an 8.1.

The Game’s second midday program – The Midday Show with Andy and Randy, featuring Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael – delivered a 6.0 share for the quarter. That placed them fourth for the book. Bunker and McMichael were down 1.1 share points however from the summer book.

In afternoons, Carl Dukes and Mike Bell claimed third for the quarter with a 7.3 share. That represented an improvement from their 6.6-share posted in the summer book. The show was also up nearly two full points year-over-year.

During weekday prime hours (M-F, 6a-7p), the station remained flat from the 6.8-share it recorded in the summer book. The fourth-place finish put The Game up one full point year-over-year.

For the full week (M-SU, 6a-12a), the station ranked third with a 6.1 share, representing the highest share for a full quarter in over two years. Compared to fall 2022, the figure is nine-tenths of a share point higher.

The Game also enjoyed a few other wins for the quarter including an eighth-place finish in the 12+ demo. That was the station’s best finish since the Winter 2020 book. The station also reaped the benefits of being the Atlanta Falcons play-by-play partner. Games on 92.9 produced first place finishes with Men 18+, Men 18-34, Persons 18-34, Men 18-49, Men 25-54, Men 35-64.
