Keith Olbermann Calls for Firing of CNN Medical Correspondent

On January 1st, insulin costs were capped at $35 per month for diabetes patients, which was part of the Inflation Reduction Act. However, a CNN medical correspondent credited big pharma for the move, which drew the ire of Keith Olbermann.

During an appearance on CNN News Central, medical correspondent Meg Tirrell said “These are initiatives that the drug makers…started introducing last year, capping the co-pays — basically the out-of-pocket costs — for people who need insulin at $35.”

She also credited the drug companies for dramatically reducing the list prices of medication needed to fight diabetes.

However, those decisions were mandated by the Inflation Reduction Act, which was signed into law by President Joe Biden on August 16th last year.

In a post to X, Olbermann angled for Tirrell’s firing, claiming the credit should have been given to the President and not to big pharma.

“Hey (CNN) have you fired this smug idiot yet for crediting this to big pharma when it was the Biden Administration’s doing and big pharma fought it all the way?,” Olbermann wrote.
