Sports radio in Washington, D.C. remains important evidenced by the over-the-air and stream ratings in Nielsen Audio’s fall book. Audacy-owned 106.7 The Fan finished first in weekday prime (M-F, 6a-7p) with a 10.8 share, up 1.7 shares from the summer book. Year-over-year, The Fan was up even more, improving by 3.0 shares with Men 25-54.
In morning drive (6a-10a), The Sports Junkies featuring John Auville, Eric Bickel, Jason Bishop and John-Paul Flaim earned an 11.4 share, marking a 12-month period of consistent growth across all ratings books. That placed them first overall for the fall book. The program previously attained a second place, 9.9 share in the summer book, and repeated its first-place finish in the fall except this time picking up 1.9 shares in the process.
The midday program (10a-2p) featuring Brian Mitchell and JP Finlay garnered an 11.9 share in the book. That placed the program first in its timeslot. It also gave the show bragging rights for recording the largest share on the station for the quarter. That represented a boost from a 9.9 share in the summer when BMitch and Finlay ranked second. Year-over-year, the duo gained 1.9 shares and retained its first-place position.
Grant Paulsen and Danny Rouheir registered a 10.1 share in afternoons (2p-6:30p) to finish first for the quarter. The measurement was up by 1.8 shares from the summer and an improvement on the 6.8 share, fourth-place result it yielded in the fall of 2022.
For the full week (M-SU 6a-Mid), 106.7 The Fan claimed the top spot with an 8.7 share. That was a 1.7-share improvement from the previous quarter when the brand ranked third. Year-over-year, the station added 2.6 shares, resulting in a fifth-place finish.
