A little less than six months after joining the agency Range Sports, the first expansion for Jim Rome and his media footprint will come to fruition on social media platform X.
The legendary sports talk radio host announced on Tuesday that he will do a live show in addition to his daily CBS Sports Radio program and his podcast The Reinvention Project.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Rome’s show will air five days a week on the platform. Deadline reported that the first show will air the Monday after Super Bowl LVIII.
Rome was announced as part of a larger lineup of shows coming to X, including former CNN host Don Lemon and former Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.
“X provides an incredible opportunity for me to reach fans on the biggest, most dynamic platform in the world,” Rome wrote. “Day 1! All in! Let’s go!”
X has been trying to embrace long-form video content recently, kickstarting that effort by allowing former FOX News anchor Tucker Carlson to take the next step with his career after leaving the network last year.
Range Media Partners will work with X to develop at least 10 shows for the platform and span various genres.
“We’re building a 360-degree media destination that encompasses the best in sports, news, and a variety of other audio and video categories,” X head of content, talent, and brand sales Brett Weitz said. “It’s essential to our strategy that we only partner with the best in class that live across those disciplines; Range Media Partners represents those players. Their deep bench of talent, like Jim Rome, and enthusiasm for the direction of the platform make them perfect partners as we embark on this new venture.”
