Brian Wilson: I Was Given Keys to Church to Broadcast From Iowa Caucuses

SuperTalk 99.7 WTN host Brian Wilson traveled to Iowa Monday to cover the Iowa Caucuses and noted that he had quite a unique broadcast experience.

While making an appearance on Nashville’s Morning News with Dan Mandis, Wilson was asked if he would be broadcasting his afternoon show from an actual caucus site. He revealed he indeed would be on hand at one of the gathering locations, but noted the people of the Hawkeye State had been more than welcoming and trusting to an outsider.

“I have been given — no kidding — the keys to a church in Iowa,” said Wilson. “It’s a big Assembly of God church in nearby Urbandale. They gave me the keys to the castle and said ‘Set up anywhere you want to’, in this particular church. It’s a really big church.”

Brian Wilson continued by noting that several caucus meetings would be happening at the location.

“Five different caucus meetings will be taking place in various parts of this church complex. I will be set up inside the church, and I’ll be able to talk to people coming and going. You have to be there and you can’t be one minute late. You have to be in your seats by seven o’clock. 7:01? You can’t participate. They lock the doors and nobody else comes in until it’s over.”
