Salem Media Group Minneapolis has announced Mike Murphy as its new General Manager. He’ll step into the role previously held by Nic Anderson, who will focus on his role as Vice President of Government Affairs for the company.
Anderson joined Salem Media Group in 2008 as General Sales Manager after previously working for eight years at CBS Radio Minneapolis, according to RadioInsight. He was then elevated to General Manager of the group in 2013.
“Nic’s passion and commitment to advocating for the interests of Salem and our industry in the halls of government has proven that he is a natural for this role,” Salem CEO Dave Santrella said. “This promotion to VP of Government Affairs is a recognition of his talents and the value of the role to Salem.”
Like Anderson, Murphy has been with Salem for several years, originally joining the company in 2011, before rising to General Sales Manager in 2016, Director of Sales in 2022, and Station Manager in 2023.
“Mike’s leadership as Station Manager has earned this elevation into the GM chair,” said Salem’s President of Broadcast Media Allen Power. “We are grateful for how he has provided oversight in Minneapolis that made it possible for Nic Anderson to take on Government Affairs. We are excited to see Mike move into the full GM job.”
