‘The NHL on TNT’ Crew Will Call Tonight’s Red Wings-Panthers Game Due to Inclement Weather

Due to inclement weather in Buffalo, TNT has had to call a massive audible on its nightly NHL coverage, one that will have its studio show calling the game this evening. For tonight’s matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and Florida Panthers, it won’t be TNT’s usual broadcasters like Kenny Albert and Eddie Olczyk on the call, but instead its studio crew of Liam McHugh, Anson Carter, Henrik Lundqvist, and Paul Bissonnette.

TNT’s original plan was to broadcast the Chicago Blackhawks’ trip to Buffalo to take on the Sabres, but the game was postponed until Thursday due to the snow impacting the greater Buffalo area. With their game crew stuck in Buffalo, TNT will have their studio hosts call the game in Florida from their Atlanta studios.

Many NHL media members are excited to see what the foursome gets into tonight:

Depending on how tonight goes, we may get our first look at a potential alternate broadcast for the NHL on TNT.

  1. For the love of God. Won’t the hosts calling this Panthers-Wings game shut up? They’re not actually calling the game! There’s no play-by-play or color. It’s just chit chat about hockey in general. They’re not even talking about this game. I’d rather listen to the skates on ice and just the sounds of the game.

    • I agree, the worst hockey commentators I have ever heard. The bad thing we are paying for this garbage. Couldn’t stand it any longer, turned the sound off is now off!
