Salem Radio Network host Mark Walters will be allowed to proceed with a defamation lawsuit against OpenAI, a Georiga judge has ruled.
OpenAI had filed a motion to dismiss the complaint, but a judge sent the case back to the Superior Court of Gwinnett County after the company failed to provide requested details from the court, according to Inside Radio.
Host of Armed American Radio, Mark Walters originally sued OpenAI last June after revealing ChatGPT claimed he was embezzling money from the Second Amendment Foundation. He argues the information provided by ChatGPT is a “complete fabrication”, and is suing for damages.
In response, OpenAI claims there was “no actual malice” from the information provided by the artificial intelligence technology.
