Barstool Sports, DraftKings Sportsbook Officially Announce Partnership

Like the great Peaches and Herb, Barstool Sports and DraftKings Sportsbook are reunited, and it feels so good. Barstool owner Dave Portnoy announced that DraftKings would be the company’s exclusive sports betting partner minutes after the Kansas City Chief’s Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

To celebrate, Barstool is hosting a free-to-play game where the members of its Chicago office will try to hit 41 free throws in a row to match the NBA team record. The contest begins on Monday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. ET.

The two companies originally worked together back in 2014 before Barstool’s deal with Penn Gaming. Penn sold Barstool back to Portnoy for $1 and rebranded its Barstool Sportsbook to ESPN BET. As part of the deal, Barstool could not work with another online sports betting organization for an extended period which turned out to be six months. Now, the Penn deal has officially ended, and Barstool and DraftKings are back together.

“This is a full circle moment for Barstool Sports,” said Dan “Big Cat” Katz on the Feb. 12 edition of Pardon My Take. “We were at DraftKings a decade ago and we’re back with DraftKings.”

According to Katz, Barstool’s involvement with DraftKings will include specialized bets featuring popular Barstool personalities, free-to-play games and a dedicated Barstool betting group on the DraftKings Sportsbook app. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but according to original reporting by Sportico back in January, the deal is in the “eight figures” realm.

Barstool personalities are thrilled with the move and took to X to make their feelings known.
