WTOP Dedicates Production Studio in Memory of George Moshos

WTOP has announced it has dedicated its production studio in the memory of longtime Production Manager George Moshos.

The station announced the news today because February 14th would have served as Moshos’ 67th birthday. A member of the WTOP team since 1982, Moshos died on January 11th.

“George helped me so much when I first started at WTOP 30 some odd years ago. I knew little about production and he let me know it. His gruff demeanor and direct style took a minute to get used to. But it didn’t take long for me to realize this guy with the glint in his eyes was a person who cared. Really cared. About his job and doing it right and more importantly about people,” said General Manager Joel Oxley.

“He touched so, so many people and made things better for them. Seems only right to name where he spent so much time of his time ‘The George Moshos Production Studio’”.

Moshos’ family members shared their appreciation for the decision to name the production studio in his honor.

“George took tremendous pride in his work at WTOP. It wasn’t just a job and career to him—it was an extension of his family. We know he would be deeply touched—as we are—by this extraordinary honor,” they said in a statement. “Thank you, WTOP, for ensuring that George’s legacy will not be forgotten.”
